Vladimir Putin: "The Russian Federation is interested in ensuring the safety of all Estonian citizens. It is due to the deplorable treatment of ethnic Russians in Estonia, that we have taken military action in intervening to protect these individuals. Russia supports the call for new elections in Estonia as the current leaders have proven that they do not care about all Estonian citizens. We urge Estonia to begin these elections as soon as possible, and we also endorse the candidacy of Narva mayor, Albert Petrov as he has shown that he has Estonia's best interests at heart. With new elections and the stabilization of Estonia, Russia may be willing to discuss the returning of border cities to Estonia."
