Open Letter to US Public

The Estonian prime minister has written a public letter condemning the military action, lead by James Mattis, which led to unnecessary death of Estonian soldiers in Narva.

"While we are ready in the future to collaborate with American military forces for to defend the sovereignty of Estonia and restore peace to the city of Narva, I am disappointed by Mattis' comment to leave soldiers dead.  As any one who has served in the military is aware, no soldier is left behind, and the memory of those fallen Estonians will be honored.  As leader of the Estonian Republic, I feel responsible for every life lost in battle, and will do everything in my power to ensure that the people of Estonia, including ethnic Russians, are given a safe and good life in our Republic."
