Due to the lack of support from US troops in Estonia, military in Narva have been defeated by Russian separatists. The separatists recently appointed Albert Petrov, ex-KGB member, as head of the occupation government. One separatist fighter called Petrov "the hero of the public of New Narva."
Petrov's first official order was to declare that Narva is officially part of Russia, separating from Estonia. Russian officials are pleased due to the large number of ethnic Russians that reside in Narva. Petrov said "a new dawn has come to Narva, and we are restored and ready for business."
