Estonia’s water supply has been declared contaminated with nuclear
waste from the Leningrad plant.

Government officials in Estonia have issued a public warning regarding contamination of the Estonian water supply due to the nuclear fallout from the Leningrad plant. The water is currently undrinkable and citizens are advised to avoid drinking water stemming from city sources.
The United Nations Environment Program has elevated this issue to the top of their agenda and will be discussing the topic of the Estonian water supply in their upcoming session. ▪
