Shoot-out Occurs at Estonian Border, US Ambassador to Estonia Found, Fatally Injured
By Raven Apigo
The United States’ surveillance cameras were able to locate the hearse US Ambassador James Melville was last seen in at the time of his abduction from the Narva power plant protests. Estonian and US forces have already moved to the border in response.
With checkpoints already established at the border, the police forces expected to catch the hearse. The hearse bore arms against personnel upon reaching the border. The shoot-out between the abductors, identified as Russian separatists, occurred just a few hundred meters from the Estonian border. 13 US personnel and 7 Estonian personnel were non-fatally injured.
Russian separatists were detained by personnel on-site, leading to the recovery of Ambassador Melville by the US, only to find he suffered a fatal shot to the abdomen during the shoot-out. Personnel reported Melville whispered the following words before passing away: “Don’t trust Brent Lannister.”
Tensions in Narva are continuing to escalate. No response has been made by the US and Estonian governments regarding this shootout. ▪
